how do you choose who to be friends with?

I am not choosy in making friends but I am beware for a friend who is taking advantage of me. What I like for a friend is cheerful, good listener, friendly, a joker and most of all go beyond a mile.

The old adage says... tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are. That means you are a funny person too. My friends are simple, responsible people. Their joys list include family and friends who put God first in their hearts.

Hi.Honestly,I make choise when I want be close with some friends.I think,the first I look someone who honest.Than,they have same perspective with me.It's not problem that we have different hobby,caracter but the important is they will be my inspiration,could giveme motivation and support.And give good influence.

If the person has a good character then I am willing to be his/her friend. Nothing else matters.

I agree with you as I like to have friends with a great sense of humour. That is so important to me and the friend must be loyal too. I do not care where they come from but the must be on my wave length with regards to humour. Blessings

Hey Gemma! I feel very much the same as you do! I like to try to
find friends with the same qualities that I have! I like to have
fun and I like to be with people who enjoy having fun and laughing
at silly things too! I like my friends to be honest too. I also
like to be with people who are intelligent that I can have a
decent conversation with sometimes when I feel like being serious!
I definitely don't like people that are boring! I try to look for
people who I have similar interests with because that's what always
seems to work out the best!

I would pretty much chose the kind of people I already chose.

I would be picking my friends from the science fiction community.

Smart would be a requirement, not too bright people annoy me.

Perhaps friendship has many dimensions. I have casual friends and close friends and many in either category are also special friends..
See, the measure of a friend is in how they feel to you when you see them and talk with them and what feeling you get if the name comes to your mind..

It is so that a friend can be one who truly understands you and accepts you as you are.. another friend may be the one that no matter what, will support you in your endeavours because he believes in you!

The friend across the street is not only a wonderful lady with a heart of gold and a smile to match, but she is my neighbour with very little Swedish language skills and yet she even checks my house when I don't show up because she doesn't want me to worry.

My buddy I fish with I have known forever and therefore there isn't anything he doesn't know about me and likes me anyway. AND we can even fart in each others presence without having to say 'sorry'.

And, of course, there is my wife who has such a great sense of humour and therefore we laugh at many things everytime we are together.. good for our health too.

I have friends that I cherish despite the fact that we have little in common on a daily living basis, nor history or style of living, and yet... there is that special something that connects me anyway to all my friends..that is that they all seem to accept me for the person I really am.. and that makes a friendship.

I don't really have a specific criteria to whom I should hang out with. I guess all that matters is that they are nice, warm and they don't backstab me. People that are true and won't give you false compliments.

I befriend people who share the same "wavelength" as me. Friend is not a friend if you don't share anything in common. But, there some times when some people are faking it. They'll do anything to make friends with you, with the ulterior motive of using you for their selfish needs. But you can actually sense people like these. Their aura stinks in the air. If you ask me, I prefer a silent and trustworthy friend than a loudmouth and jolly person who back stabs when you turn around.
