How much do you guys think would be fair for a father to pay to support a two year old little girl. I'm asking what you guys think is fair, cuz the way that the government figures it out is not fair. Some men pay hundreds in child support while others pay less than $50 a month. And, these are all children that need to be nurtured so that they can thrive in the world. I don't understand the reason for the descrepancy. How much do you guys think this father of a two year old should pay?

A father should pay as much as it takes for that child to be cared for properly. They basis it on your income. Some men make more than others and that is why it varies, and it depends on weather the mother is working or not. Their are too many fathers that walk out and never look back and never pay a cent.

True, there are too many that do this. But, there are also men who think just because they do something they should get the "Best Dad" award. As they say sometimes "your best just ain't good enough". I don't think that we should reward dads for taking minimal care of their children. No parent is perfect, but where there's more than enough room for improve ... the dad should somehow be made to do better.

I believe in my state it's 17% but I don't know if it's the same elsewhere or not. I don't think the system of judging what one can pay in child support is always fair. I knew a lady who got checks for under $5 a week and her child was already grown. I'm sure it's based on their income so if they are on disability you may not see a dime just as if they were in jail. And many I've heard take low paying or cash under the table jobs to avoid supporting their child which is very dirty.... a friend of mine had that problem.
