I agree with Kent and Peaceful(Karen). Try to 'understand' what you're reading, because if you just memorize it, it might be difficult and not always so helpful in the future. Read it over again and again and look for references, and if that seems difficult, ask someone who understands to explain it to you. You could also try using Mind Maps to help you learn some key points. You have a central topic and you have balloons coming out of it with only a word or 2 written in each, and those words are what you have to remember. That way you don't have to remember an entire sentence because you can phrase it in your own words. Writing things down in your own words does help a lot, I guess you could call it a Visual Learning technique. If it's something that you can work on, for example a program on a computer, or some woodwork, something you can do practically, then do it, because that's something which will stick to you like super glue! You won't forget! Good Luck.

Break it into small sections, and repeat until you've memorized the high points. Or have someone ask you the questions and you provide the answers. I found these helpful when I was in school, and taught them to my own children. My sister used to write everything important down by hand to more firmly remember it when she was getting her teaching degree. Best of luck! Karen
