Do any of you own himalayan salt lamps?  

Yeah thats what i want to know cause i have allergies something aweful....
But i get mixed reviews online i was hoping to find someone who actually has one...see if it does work!!
I would definately prefer this to plants cause i kill plants....;}

OH! I forgot to mention the effects on high blood pressure! My mama has been on medication for high blood pressure for years. I got her a salt lamp and then she bought an ion air cleaner from Oreck. Her blood pressure stabalized and she has not had to take medication for the last two years. That is actually WHY I got her the lamp, but even so, I was just amazed that it actually worked the way they said it would. ;D

Wow finally a real person who has tried it...thanks for leting me know! So do you think if i put several of the lamps throughout my house like two in the kichen two in the living room two in the bedrooms etc that it would work or do you think you have to have both the lamps and the ionic breezes??? Cause i would prefer just the lamps. Also are you saying the lamps wear out quickly or the ionic breezes?
Thos things are just too expensive I found the 5 lb lamps on ebay for about $30 including shipping and thats probably more than i can afford right now but i can barely breath any more so i figure i can but those one at a time til i have enough of them...
besides they are so pretty i imagine they have a calming effect just from looking at them...

I think the more the better! It's the Ionic Breeze air cleaners that don't last long in this camper. The one I had in my house lasted years. If you got of them from eBay, there's no telling how long it was used or how much life is left in it, but I am going to try some and see.

The salt lamp is just a wood base, a cord with a switch on it, plug on one end and night light bulb on the other. It will last as long as the cord does, I imagine. That would also be easy to replace, even if it did go bad. They are really pretty.

I want the air cleaners, as well, because I have pets. But I do plan on scattering the salt lamps through the house, as well.

Ebay has the best prices i have seen and a large selection...
I think i am going to get one to put near my computer and see if it makes a difference and if it does then i am going to put them all over my house...they are so pretty they look like they would have a calming effect anyway!

There is another little device that plugs into an outlet that they sell on ebay too but it cost $45 and it isnt pretty to look at or anything....just a yellow plug thingy...but it says it puts out an astronomical number of negative ions...like 2,000,000 per cubic foot or something like that.

I was researching all morning about negative ions and im seeing that they get rid of cigarette smoke and pet dander and stuff like that too...
My husband smokes like a chimeny and i dont so i really hate breathing in all that smoke all the time...and i now have asthma from being exposed to mold a couple years ago and wheever he lites a cigarette it kills me!!

debra, I got mine on eBay. Actually, that's the only place I've ever seen them for sale.

Anyway I got mine from wal mart...ordered it online and it came to the store near my house (site to store) free shipping so the total I paid was $20
This thing is soo pretty I would buy it just for that but i have had it about 2 and a half months now and i have to say i do notice a big difference.....
I have it close to my computer because that is where i spend most of my time and i always used to get really sleepy after a couple hours on the comp and now i dont...and i always feel better when i am at my comp then when i am in the living room or whatever...I often have to use my inhaler when i am in the living room but not in my computer area...so I guess they really do clean the air...as soon as i can i will be getting a couple more!
