New Season! New Begining! |
|
Well, I absolutely love basketball. I like football but it is only on Sunday and I need something during the week. This has been a good tip off season. I can't believe that Cleveland is 0-2. I don't have anything against any player or team but I think Cleveland is over-rated and adding Shaq doesn't mean anything. Moving on, the Miami Heat made me proud. I am happy that Michael Beasley stepped up and Mario Chalmers it is nice to see a team now instead of Dwayne Wade. Orlando had a great pre-season being the only team to go 8-0! They are very strong and I think they will go very far.
As for for the west I don't see much competition. I am not fond of the Lakers but they are the most dominant team in the west. Hopefully Dallas or New Orleans can step it up and give them a fight..
Who are you routing for and what is your opinion of the new season!

I remember way back (2006 or 2007 I guess) when both the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks both started the season with a 1-6 card. Everybody thought that both of them would had a bust season after a spectacular season the previous season but in the end, both of them ended up at the top 4 of the Western Conference. Cleveland would follow the same path I guess. 0-2 is really nothing much especially for a team with LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal. Cleveland is a playoffs bound team and they are among the East's top 3 teams. How long can they gel? Would they go 1-6 too before starting winning games? That's something that we all would be watching out for. Shaq's transfer to Cleveland indeed stirred much hype (it's Shaq, who won't stir hype?). Cleveland is going to be up there as soon as the season ends.
Other teams that for sure are going to make a bang this season are the San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, and the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers. Though the Dallas Mavericks acquired Shawn Marion, I'm still skeptical about them knowing their reputation of blowing off in the playoffs. With Blake Griffin, the Los Angeles Clippers can also make a splash this 2009-2010 season.
I'm still optimistic about the Phoenix Suns. Aside from the fact that it's my favorite team, I'd really love to see Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, and the rest of the Suns bring the run-and-gun back. It's kinda too late already but for sure they still have some steam in them left. Nash is old and without him or him slowing down would basically mean the Suns slowing down. Steve Kerr should better do something good to revive the Suns, Stoudemire ain't that good without Nash or somebody like Nash who could feed him the ball and operate the open court basketball. A 7th or 8th spot in the West is good enough for the Suns.

Crestview (230) | 2 months ago | Went to their home opener against Utah, even though they won, they need a lot of improvements, missing wide open shots and easy lay ups. On the other hand Ty Lawspn looks good for a rookie.

They no longer have Dahntay Jones and Linas Kleiza, two players who can really contribute big. Carmelo Anthony will have an MVP type of season while Chauncey Billups will still deliver for the Nuggets but I don't think they'd be enough, the Lakers and the Spurs are a lot tougher now. An X-Factor for the Nuggets, JR Smith should come up big once again. He's the Nuggets key. An All-Star for Nene perhaps?
