ever been so blank in your mind?  | |  I couldn't even put any thing on paper. I was in the middle of trying to use clay and create something that would look real when completed. I just sat there and all i could of think of was naugthy and I couldn't do that I might be kick out of class. LOL. (this was for my ceramic class).So I play with the clay til I could come of with something.. it just horrible I was gazing all that time. and than decided to make a small bowl. What do you do when your mind gone blank??

I have to write ideas down so that I don't forget. Any way I like your avatar, it's very creative. Do you sell your art work online? Do you turn your art work into novelty gifts and wearable art? I never really sell it because it become a personal feeling to me and I need to now.. because i could use some money because I am unemployed. But to buy supplie I cant do that either. most of my art work I posted on facebook. I am student at college and love art. If you have a digital camera, google a free pdf called some thing like "101 things to take photos of in and around your home town" Build your portfolio on stock photo sites like bigstockphoto.com (please see me profile for the banner) dreamstime.com and istockphoto.com It's all pay per download.
As for not having any supplies, been there. BUT being that you are a artist, that means you are creative, observant, resourceful and innovative. And one mans trash is another mans treasure.
So how do you feel about painting with interior/exterior house paint? check with your local recycling center. We have a product exchange room and every Wed. I can go get int/ext paint, spray paint, wood stain, cleaning supplies and just all kinds of stuff. Just take what I want and sign my name in the book, that's it. I also look for construction dumpsters on the street, I've found a few good pieces of wood to paint on.
And one more thing, if you sign up on yahoo groups, you might be able to get some free supplies. You want to join the freecycle group for you location. So type in city, state, and freecycle and you should be able to find it. Check daily, people give away all kinds of stuff and you can put in a request, wanted, looking for. You never know, maybe some one has some thing to give to you.

| | 3.  cher913 (13320) | 4 weeks ago |  absolutely! i think that any type of artist has this problem once in awhile (especially writers!) the thing is, we put so much pressure on ourselves to create that when we have a moment when we cant think of anything, we beat ourselves up.
both when i was writing and now that i am an artist what i have done and do is walk away from the project for a bit or go on and work on something else for a bit then come back to the original project.
