stem cell, a new method to heal your organs.. fact or fiction?

I ever read in some articles about stem cell. They said that stem cell can be use to heal and recover any organ which 'eror'.. Honestly I still in hesistate about it.. Is stem cell fact or just fiction? Do you believe it?

fact but its still controversial because it involves the placenta. Also new born are a part of it not that they get killed. the research stems out to alot of sub topics involving the regeneration of cells. we need that especially the hear and brain since these two organs don't regenerate.
