don't display your beauty while your brain is empty

I believe brains are better than beauty but some people might argue that those people who are not that gifted "brain-wise" can just flaunt their beauty instead because they say it is easier to make yourself beautiful than make yourself intelligent (i dont really believe in this). other people would also argue that a person's beauty is the first thing that gets noticed by people, you cant really predict a person's intelligence. Anyway, I really believe that with or without the brains, there's nothing wrong with flaunting beauty if that's what makes a person happy. But, I also believe that beauty is not a substitute to brains and that these qualities have their respective purposes in life. Also, i think failing a promotion examination does not necessarily depend on a person's intelligence. It can also be based on some other factors. exams like that are specially constructed to find out the capability of a peson and not just what he or she knows. It gauges a person's skills and readiness too. Even not so intelligent people as long as they are skilled enough to perform a job may get promoted so intelligence is really not the sole basis and failing a promotion does not prove you of not being intelligent..

I'm not sure exactly what your uncle meant. Perhaps he think the young lady puts more focus on looking beautiful and flaunting it rather than on intelligence and education?

One can have either, or one can have both, but intelligence and education should always matter more than physical beauty, for that fades with time.

I didn't get the meaning of 'displaying beauty'.. What did she do? BTW brains are more important than looks but again that depends upon perspective and concern. Some people like to be 'beauty without brain' and believe me there are some who want to be with exactly such persons... Not me!
