It is very unfortunate that in a huge country like India there are no means of controlling a major petroleum fire.We spend crores of rupees to safeguard and protect our storage depots and it is a careless employee who causes a fire which rages out of control. What was the security doing? Where is the infrastructure to combat this flames? Whenever there is a crisis, whether it is a flood or drought, a fire or any other natural calamity, we end up woefully short of infrastructure and resources. When will we learn to prepare ourselves to ward of damage from such calamities. It is time our politicians looked after our country rather than their own pockets!

i think Nothing can be done to Stop the Flame ,Even the petroleum Minister Said ..... Nothing much can be done to Douse the 40-meter high flames and the fire would "die down when the entire fuel burns up".
all the measures have to be taken for the fire not to spread to the near by areas and evacuate the near by places.
