1. aseretdd (6841) | 4 weeks ago | It is quite difficult to land a job that we will really love... but in my case... i feel that i am very lucky in that aspect... after i graduated from college... i was immediately hired as a teacher in one very respected school here in my area...
Then after 7 years... the opportunity to work abroad came knocking... that is thanks to my father who did everything he can to get me hired... i did not shell out a single cent... because the company took care of everything...
When my contract ended... i decided not to renew it because i want to have a baby... and i did... i was offered several teaching jobs... some i accepted... but resigned after a few months because i want to concentrate on taking care of my daughter... then i landed my current job with flexible working hours... so the set up is perfect for me...
I hope you find your dream job soon... it is quite difficult to land on... but luck will surely smile on you one of these days...

julyteen (4405) | 4 weeks ago | Yes seems similar experience. After i finished my course i am also hired in the company that i took my OJT but after 5.5 years of works, i got bored and decided to resigned. Don't have any experience of applying a job to any company. Now, i tried to apply for a job and found it that it's too hard. LOL. Hope I can find a good job before the end of this year. If not, time to continue living and managing my own business here in the Philippines.

2. cognoscentethelegend (213) | 4 weeks ago | Hi julyteen, I think we are sailing in the same boat. I am a fresher hunting for a right job. But still now, i can't get it due to communication. Nowadays i was trying hard to improve my communication and i am sure i will get the right job with in this month. When dealing with foreign people, we need to concentrate on their words. You will get right job with good salary. All the best.

3. JDy116 (1432) | 4 weeks ago | I think it's because it's really hard to get a permanent job in the Philippines, for mixed reasons. One could be that most employers are foreign, and right now many jobs are in the BPO attracting young people without careers.
It's always been a hard time. I am thinking of being an entrepreneur and join the many micro entrepreneurs in the country helping themselves. I am thinking I should heed the advice of someone that you cannot get rich being an employee, esp being an employee in the Philippines. Your salary can hardly cover your expenses and it's frustrating.
So others turn to be an OFW. Not a bad choice, because if you can get a job that can pay you decently even your job is temp, you can earn fast and maybe, it'll be easier to start something out of that earnings. With earnings here you can hardly save anything.
I have been an OFW but right now I do not have plans of returning. I know the situations there and I am sick of it.

julyteen (4405) | 4 weeks ago | I already tried applying for BPO but i am failed in the final interview because of my Filipino accent. I am fluent but the accent is the problem. Why i am here in Makati City because I tried applying for work abroad although I have a small business in Davao, if until December still can't find I will back to my place and continue by entrepreneur career and also i want to finish my course BS Entrepreneurship, 1 year to go i am already a graduate of this course. I know a lot of storied being heard and told me about the life of OFW but i want to try. If the time not permits me so i will still go abroad but being a tourist I think. I work hard on my business, maybe this dream will turn to reality.

JDy116 (1432) | 4 weeks ago | If you're looking for jobs abroad, maybe you can search online workabroad dot ph or jobstreet. Try post resume there. Also, you can try going to Malate or Ermita place, there are many agencies there. They are just beside each other, so you can compare between job orders they have.
But some agencies and some jobs have high placement fee. I don't see an agency yet that follows the POEA rule that your placement fee should not be more than your one month salary, and mind you these agencies are legal agencies. It's even 5 times the monthly salary in that country, now that sucks because when you have been deployed, the monthly salary written in your contract is not even the actual salary you're receiving, the actual is way lower.
There are many issues when you get there esp if you're deployed in countries with other culture and different language than English.
I am not trying to discourage you but I have experienced this, and since it's like accepted in that country, it's common place. Like if you complain, you are not being understood and even looked at as someone causing problems.
I guess that you just need ready yourself for those things you might not be expecting, or never thought you would like to contain or to be patient about, because oftentimes it feels it is a better choice.

julyteen (4405) | 3 weeks ago | I already did applying some jobs online such as jobstreet and workabroad. Some of agencies already had my prelimenary interview and waiting for employer coming here in Manila. I a bored while waiting for the employer but don't any choice except to wait. LOL. I am line up with different employer interview by this month and hoping for a chance to passed. Hope I can make it. You are very frank in terms of discussing the reality how lif goes on while working abroad. I know you have a lot of experiences and I a very thankful mate. Anyway, if I am not lucky enough, I have another options and that I mention earlier. Living outside our country sucks specially middle east but we wonder why so many OFW there, it's because they are also trying to improved their way of living and the simpliest way is to enter midle east, although low salary but it's easy to apply those country than any open country such as USA, UK and Australia.
