Before anything, you must first to decide if you want to do it a site/blog just for fun, for something clear purposes ro - eventually - to sometime earn some coins with it.

Once you decide which one option, you must know that a serious site is never under a free domain nor on a free hosting.

Once you set this above, you think what would be about. For example "cat pets" or "second hand cars" or "indian movies" or .. whatever you want, BUT! It has to be something you LIKE and simultaneously you KNOW about.
Once you set this too, you try to find a domain name is suitable for the future site content.

Next, depending if you decided for a free host/domain or paid (those paid are not so expensive and offer you maximum of flexibility; ask me for prices details if you want, I won't send you to any refferal sites), is time to set online the site/blog. This mean another choice - for a theme - how site will appear to visitors. There are hunderds of free themes and after you decide to one, think it will be your site image for at least 1-2 years.

"*" Once you done all above, write 10-12 articles (200-500 words + 1 picture OR 5-100 words and a embeded video) on the decided subject and post them one a day. Keep writing new, allways to have 5-6 or more ready to be published, as it will sure happen some time you will not be able to write or have not the mood ..

"*" In this moment - while keep writng and posting EVERY DAY, at least every 2 days you'll have to look for SIMILAR sites/blogs (same subject or related subjects, as example if your site is about cat pets, one similar or related can be also a "food for cats" site .. find as many as possible and COMMENT there as often as possible, while put a link to your site there (almost all blogs ask you about name, email address and link to your site - if you find one blog do not ask you for all this 3, forget about it)

Keep doing all the above last 2 "*" for ever. Also promote it among your friends.

If your site content is intersting and usefull, sometime, probably one year from launch or more, you may get a page rank 1 ...

it's not going to be easy but like you i didn't know anything about blogging til i stumble this site thoushallblog.com it is the site that made me realise i must blog after a year i have accomplish a lot of things through blogging my blog now is a .com p[leae visit and see for your self

if you are new to blogging then i will suggest you to make your blog on blogspot.com and then keep posting for 3-4 months on any topic you want. one thing that you must keep in mind that your post should be informative and nice one. when you thing that you have done nice work then convert it in to paid domain. there is one option in blogspot to convert it to paid domain. i hope u might have understood. if any query please tell me. i will give you answer.

I have found that Triond is great for the very novice person!! And the blogger I found to be little confusing but getting through google and doing adsence and experimenting with the formats and things now I have a few blogs at the mo... And currently started a post asking people if they want to become authors on a blog I will set up for advertising their sites and things...
