It seems extremely quiet around here during the Halloween

We are experiencing the same thing here at our little community in Ohio. I only had five kids come to the door tonight. I think it is partly the weather, economics and the fact that more and more malls and stores have been giving out treats and parents may think it is safer to go there instead of neighborhood houses. I also don't see any decorations anymore. Things just aren't like they used to be when I was young and my son was young and going trick or treating. I think it is such a shame and very disheartening.

I think alot of it is safet reasons. Some of the churchs aroiund my house had something called trunk or treat! Church members would load their trynks with the treats and the kids would walk from on trunk to the next, most of the parents were right there with their treats in their car trunks. It is getting very popular since all the parents mostly know each other as well as all the kids know each other.
