you can try yahoo webhosting and domain registration. cheap and best, easy to make .com website. they provided you all the tools to make a good website.

.com domain name you cant get free anywhere. you will have to pay for that.
for free domain you can only get the sub domain.(domains which are already occupies and they can give you the sub domain. as yourname.50megs.com)you can go and get the free domain there. but this will not be the class one as .com.

other thing if you are a professional developer then no probs but if you are not and have a big requirement then you must approach a good professional to work for you.

As far as I know domains and hosting costs around 20-40 dollars in order to set up. however, if you want to know where I would go. I would go to hostgator which will sell you .com .ca .net and alot of other .---- names for about 5 dollars a year. and gives you hosting for unlimited domain names for another 20 dollars.
