What is your worst household chore and why?

Mine has got to be the washing up, especially when there are a lot of cutlery to wash up. I hate it. Thankfully my hubby does the washing up most of the time. I keep saying we need to get a dishwasher, but he won't have it. He reckons they are not worth the hassle. Anyway what job do you hate the most and why?

Probably washing dishes. I hate how the detergent soap makes my hands peel. Our maid was away for a while so I had to do chores, and washing up was one of them. I don't mind doing chores actually and I like sweeping up since it's great exercise. However, I don't mind the washing itself. In fact, I like washing dishes, but it's what it does to my hands that make me detest it.

I've never actually tried using gloves, or even thought about it. But I am allergic to latex so I might not be able to use them anyway. Also, I'm kinda scared to use them as it would make me clumsy while washing. I've had quite a lot of close calls, like nearly dropping a cup or a plate slipping out of my hand, so wearing gloves would make it harder. Like you, I also apply hand cream after washing.

Can't go without the hand cream, though my hubby does most of the washing up for me, saves on buying a dishwasher ;)

Dishes are brutal on my hands as well. I used to detest the chore itself, but I'm cool with it now.

I also hate doing the dishes. Folding laundry after it is clean is also not that much fun, but I don't mind doing the laundry actually for some reason. Funny thing that!

I feel the same. I also dislike washing the dishes. After enjoying the meal, I feel bad to wash the dishes. Your husband is very nice to do it most of the time. My husband and I share the housework. Every week we will wash the dishes in turn. I don't want to buy the dishwasher, because I have a doubt whether it works well. I am afraid the dishes are not clean enough.

Hi Skyeblue, I absolutely detest ironing! I don't mind washing clothes, after all, it's the washing machine that does most of the work. The hanging out to dry and folding is still acceptable, but ironing 
! It's hot, sweaty work! Especially when the clothes get accidentally creased during ironing, it is so difficult to get the crease out!
