Do you listen to a scanner?

When I was younger my grandfather always listened to a scanner.... we recently purchased a scanner and it can be addictive at times. I am looking to go into the medical field and I find it interesting to listen to the medical channels. And not all of the information is bad... The best part is when a baby is on the way!! I just happened to hear EMS talking about picking up a healthy mother to be whose water had broken and the baby was on the way!!! AHHH new life being brought into the world!!! How wonderful!!! So.. do you listen to the scanner?

No I don't listen to a scanner. I used to volunteer as a Paramedic but have taken time off to devote to my family. Hearing the tones go off in the middle of the night and going out to respond to a call gets your blood and adrenaline pumping but the codes were not fun.

That is cool that you used to volunteer... a few of my friends are paramedics and EMTs. I am going for nursing myself..... happy mylotting!!
