What did they say about clicking links in suspicious emails? Well, I hope none of you have been scammed lately by an email claiming to be from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ( FDIC ) and that there is some discrepancy with the recipient's bank or that the deposit for their insurance had failed and is in jeopardy. And to save themselves from getting into trouble, recipients are asked to scrutinize to click a link which will bring them into a fake FDIC site to download a FDIC insurance file to check their statement of accounts. The file is known to have the Zeus Bot virus which will steal users vital information in the computer. This phishing scam is really gaining momentum and there are already some poor victims becoming a few thousand dollars poorer at the end of the day. So, here's another regular reminder not to click away the links in your emails without first checking for their credentials and origin. Better still do not click them at all. This will be another reason for you to keep that anti virus and adware removal software up to date. Ref: http://www.419legal.org/blog/2008/10/24/fdic-email-scam-stalking-the-net-internet-scams/
