"Sour Graping" have to done it lately?

I had to apply this concept with my son. As his bike broke-off several weeks ago, my son really wanted to have a new one. As we goes to the mall last weekend, he sees a really pretty bike and wanted to me to buy it in replacement for his old one. Its very nice indeed but as I checked the price, damn its trice the cost of his original one. And at that moment, I knew I had to apply the "sour graping concept". I tell him that the bike would not last long and that the built is ugly and all other stuffs just to make him believe that its not worth having it. The last thing I said that if I will fix his broken bike, it would look as new and better that the new one. Now I had to buy a spare parts and had it fixed as promised. He's looking forward to riding it over the weekend.
