The race card

Every time someone from the right says something about what President Obama is doing, we've seen the left throw the race card. Until recently. A few weeks ago, we saw Jimmy Carter try the race card, and it failed big time. In fact, I think it back-fired on them. I have 2 questions to pose to my fellow myLotters: 1) Is the Race card truely dead? 2) Is raceism the only defence the left has?

Honestly, I cannot stand the race card. It is so over used. Everyone is using the race card these days (yes, even Whites are now using the race card). The race card is just an excuse. Although, I do question people, Republicans especially, about their disagreements with Obama. Why do people disagree with him so much? What is their reason for this disagreement? Also, can they truly back up their disagreement with facts and figures? I don't see it as a race thing, and I am just wondering why? Everyone said they wanted change, and now all of the sudden they don't want it.

Yes, everyone wanted change, but they totally ignored what that change would be, what was comingout of Candidate Obamas mouth on the campaign trail. His discussion with "Joe the Plumber" summed it up fairly well, but the press squashed it. As for the reasons we disagree with him so much is because everything he proposes has already been proven a failure in history. FDR's financial plan turned a mild recession into the Great Depression. We can see that now. Ov course, the Dust Bowl ( the great american drought, which happened at the same time) didn't help. Still, that recession shouldn't have lasted more than 2-3 years. FDR turned that into 13 years, with WWII the only thing that got us out of it. Public healthcare doesn't work in Europe or Canada. In fact, the Canadian healthcare system is going broke. In short, President Obama patterns his policies after failed policies, and he backs up tin pot dictators, while treating our friends and allies like crap (ie., the Chzeck republic, Poland and Hondouras). I hope this clears thisng up for you a little bit.

I would say that at least he is trying, but that's just me. Anyway, my main point is that people should just stop playing the race card.

It is a shame that our government will not let racism die. That is right when you make special laws for minorities you are promoting racism. I personally would not want to get a job or be promoted in my job just because of my color. I would like to be promoted on the grounds that I am good at what I do. I am not saying that there are not times when this doesn't happen but when you force promotions you are only making more problems. As far as Obama being the first black president he is not. He is the first bi-racial president. He is also the first Muslem president. He is also the first president to refuse to salute the American flag. He is also the first president to refuse to wear the flag lapel pin. He is the first president in a lot of things too bad none of them are good things. As far as rasism it will always be pointed out and exploited when a white person commits a crime against a black person. You will see this story on every news channel for many days. However, if a black person commits a crime against a white person it gets a small foot note in the news and forgotten. This helps keep racism alive. It is a shame that people can not just report the news in general why does it have to be about race at all. Why do we have to say a black man did x y and z or a white person did x y and z. It is just one person did x y and z. That will never happen. Racism will always be around because there is a profit in it.
