Are the advertisements overcrowding the streets?

Yeah you're absolutely right. Huge billboards with all that advertisements written on it are very very bad for motorists. A study shows that accidents are prone to streets that have too many advertisements because the driver is often distracted by these billboards. A male driver for instance would take a look of that beautiful poster of a lady only wearing an underwear.lol. and the result, more accidents as he is not paying attention to driving. Damn, they should be banned for life.

I do a lot of highway driving and I am an habitual reader. I find it very difficult NOT to read everything I see. Highway billboards are very distracting, especially the creative ones which really capture the attention - and after all, that IS their aim, isn't it?

It is probably the same everywhere, and at least partly due to increased traffic, due to increased population, but our road death toll here in Australia increases every year and this year has reached alarming figures. I can't blame everything on distracting billboards, but I think ANYTHING to reduce the toll should be implemented. I'd like to see highway billboards banned, along with ALL signs which are not related to the situation: road signs, traffic signs, directional signs etc.

While there are no large billboards in out city streets, there are numerous advertising signs and the same should apply to these. Take them down. Ban them.

They distract the motorists, those at the driving seat, I admit. But I who is always at the back seat enjoy reading them.Now a days they are too many, that I have to make sure I didn't miss any, only on my way back home.
