Should Christians Consult "faith healers" and psychic healers?

Before I became a Christian, my mother used to bring me to our neighbor who is a "faith healer" because I suffered from asthma since I was a child. The faith healer does not ask for money, he just laid his hand upon me and gave me water to drink as his way of treating his patients. Sometimes he was in trance, and spoke as if he was possessed by a little child (Sto Nino or child Jesus). I thought before if he was just acting or he's really possessed by the Nino. Well, to cut the story short, I was not healed from asthma and only when I gave my life to Jesus I was completely healed from it. Later, in my Christian walk, I have learned that these so-called "faith healer", psychic healers, pyramid healers, etc., are not really gifted by God to heal the sick but most of them consult the devil to ask for the "gift to cure illnesses." Many of them who formerly practised these stuffs have already become Christians and renounced these work of darkness. They admitted that they had formerly worshipped the devil, not God. How about you would you consult these people if your doctor can no longer treat your diseases knowing their powers are not from God? Not to mention some of them are fake.

Christians should never, ever under any circumstances consult "faith healers"/psychic healers. The "healer" you saw that acted as though he were possessed very well could have been, because those who tamper with black magic are subjecting themselves to spiritual danger. And these "healers" are not the only ones putting their souls in peril, either - those who seek them out are also asking for trouble, so to speak. If one has an incurable disease, they would be much better off learning to cope with it, and even dying with it, then putting their eternal lives in jeopardy by consulting the dark arts.

You're right. People were deceived thinking that these so-called healers are gifted by God to heal the sick but in reality they are counterfeits. Thanks, God has enlightened us when we became Christians.

A Christian must never consult a 'faith or psychic healer." Although they may cure one, the devil having great power, their cure often comes at a great cost and after a while, the devil requires a favor that no one should ever give. I have never had much trust in these even before I became a true Christian as opposed to a Christian in name only.
