Call it "spin", say I'm "making excuses", say whatever you want...there was another special Congressional election yesterday I don't think anyone here even mentioned. It was in California's 10th District and it was won by Democratic Lt. Gov. John Garamendi. The election was to replace former Democratic Rep. Ellen Tauscher, who vacated her position to take a job with the State Department.

According to my figures the Democrats are 2-0 in national elections, 0-2 in gubernatorial races and 2-2 overall, as far as the major races are concerned.
All things considered, not such a horrible day after all!

I think I would rather have Democrats making up Congress right now and well my governors a Democrat so I don't really care about those other governors

Me, too, especially with the current crop of far-right wingnuts in the GOP. They're seriously trying to purify the party to the point where there are no moderates or centrists in the party. Somehow it's perfectly acceptable for there to be conservative Democrats but there can't be any Republicans who aren't on the fringe like Michele Bachmann and Co.
