But they would not replace it with their Windows systems because one thing that Windows has that sets it apart from other OSes like MAC or LINUX is the familiarity. Not all but in a lot of computer cafes around and in schools, they practically use Windows and if they do have other OSes, it would just be a secondary boot. Look at Windows Vista and XP. A lot of people still preferred XP because Vista is just too hard for them to get used to. Even the new Windows 7 features a Windows XP mode so just imagine how people and hardware are too attached to XP.

4. raisur (168) | 1 month ago | it is to be seen... you can't expect google chrome OS to beat windows just on arrival, but surely, windows will face some competition... just look at ubuntu, it's so good an OS, everyday improving contributed by such a big community of volunteers, yet it's difficult for ubuntu to beat windows so quick... even, it is free... this is because, you won't be able to find the ubuntu version of each program you are habituated to use... though, you'll find softwares for almost all purposes for ubuntu, but, may not be the one you are habituated with... so ultimately, there's good number who use ubuntu, but just as a secondary OS... though I feel and hope, in the near future, ubuntu has a chance beating windows... same applies to google Chrome OS, we'll have to wait and see... can't comment much before seeing what it's going to be...

6. anu0002 (106) | 5 hours ago | I am not sure Chrome OS will beat windows. Because in my knowledge it will be an OS for web or strongly related to it. Windows is not only aimed to web and a big roll in both workstations and severs even if costly. But as usual we can hope google will make the difference..
