How many of you work in your hometown?

It's common in China that many people work in other cities,not the hometown,me as well.
I was born in Anhui province,and now I'm working in Zhejiang.My sisters are in the same condition.We're apart from families all year long.We go parents' home only 2-3times a year.My neighurs told me that our callings have been one of the important things to my parents.
Is it the same in your country?How about you?
