I'm traveling to Denver next week on business and I have one free day. I was wondering if anyone knows of some fun things to do in Denver. I heard the U.S. Mint is fun but that it requires an appointment for a tour. Any suggestions are welcomed!

If the Avalanche and Nuggets are in town, you can try to get tickets to the game, you shouldn't have much trouble with getting tickets.
You are an hour from Loveland ski area, so you can try your skills at that.
Coors Brewery in Golden gives free tours, so does Celestial Tea in Boulder.
If weather is nice, there are a lot hiking trails around the foothills
Buffalo Bills grave around Lookout Mountain has a nice view of Denver.
