I wanna publish a book...

i look at this as,more over a money making way,a way to express my feelings to the people.
Oh i see.So if we are not willing to take the whole expense,its better go behind a publisher right?
Can i publish it in my name,i mean,as me as its author,while publishing via a publisher?

Yes, you can absolutely publish the piece in your own name and the publication of the book would cost you absolutely nothing. I understand your point about expressing your feelings vs making money but if no one is able to buy a copy of the book you won't get your point across either. Unless you want to publish this as a vanity work to be read only by family and friends, I would definitely recommend that you seek a reputable publishing house to publish it. If you do decide to publish this book yourself, how would you sell it? Would you go door to door? Spend more money to advertise it? Essentially, how will you let the public know that you've written a book, what the book is about and how to purchase it? Please take my advice and answer those questions before you do decide to go the self publishing route. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck to you.

More over i think its a risky job to self publish as we are not able to know the quality of the book that we have written. Yeah you are right friend. We're on different continents but this is how I would approach it. Is there a Yahoo India or do the phone companies in India publish phone books? I think that you could approach this in one of two ways. You could either send the piece to a publisher directly or to an agent to represent the work. Both avenues have their own advantages. Whichever route you choose, go to Yahoo yellow pages and search for publishing companies or book agents in any of the large cities. Once you have names, check out their websites. Typically, they request a query letter and a sample chapter but each will indicate their submission guidelines and each will be unique. Good luck to you and I hope that you do get that book published.
