Can U explain the concept of Peer to Peer downloading?

instead of uploading the files so people may download them, the files are kept on your pc. you should provide a folder that your p2p client can access. when you open your p2p client and somebody searches for a file you have, then your file will be downloaded. basically, te host of the file has to be online so the downloader can download the file. if the file has many seeders (people who have the same files and have their p2p client on at the same time), then the downloader gets bits and pieces from each of them (depending on who's online) and will continue downloading until the file gets completed. The danger is that the downloaders wouldn't have any idea if what they are seeding (downloading) is malicious or not. They would only find out once they complete the file. for rare files, you really need to wait for the seeders to be online before you can finish your download..believe it or not, i have about 3 files right now which I have been trying to download for almost 10 months already. The seeder rarely gets online so I never complete any of them..:(

The question is: What do you want to download? On a site like mininova you can sort the torrents shown by seeders. This is very important, because the number of seeders is essential to getting a fast speed! Another important factor is, that there should be little downloaders compared to seeders. If you have for example two torrents with the same content, and one has 200 seeds and 1000 downloaders and the other has 20 seeds and 10 downloads, you should rather pick the second one, because there are more seeders per downloader. Breaking it down for you; P2P is where users share files rather than downloading them from a server. After you have finished downloading, you should continue to keep your torrent program open, because that is, what keeps P2P alive.

Your download speed is low, cuz the provider of the seed is not enough, you could download another seed and try again, good luck!
