Over the years I have seen this alot and don't know why! Then the cat throws up the grass? Why is that? I am curious!

I don't know about the cat, but my dog is doing the same. She eats the grass. Maybe, it's like vegetables for them . Sometime, she throws up too, but not all the time if she chews it correctly.

I hear its because they are trying to throw up - but I've got a few cats that can eat it and not throw up - go figure... They seem to like certain kinds of grass better than others

I know, its like they say horses can't burp, but I was sitting on one when she did - and her owner was leaning on her side talking to me when it happened! Jane say that maybe that's why she never got colic when the other horses did...

The reason is if their feel sick after eating their food the grass will settle their stomach down thats why they do it and plus it rid of fur balls thats not good for them so thats why eat grass alot. cd

I guess the cat is using grass for brush their teeth until clean, they also play on the grass while shower. Not only that, they like to eat the roots of plants if they are hungry.

It sounds from other peoples responses cats eat grass grass because they have a sick stomach and throwing the grass up makes them feel better! It makes sense!

As far as I know cats eat grass to make themselves throw up. Its usually because they have an upset stomach or have eaten something bad so they eat grass which makes them sick.

I have always heard that animals eat grass because they are sick to the stomachs and grass makes them puke. Then they feel better. My cats and dogs do it sometimes too. :)
