I have joined surfing site to gain traffic to my website. Its actually a good way to get traffic for free. The concept is you join the site and surf other sites for a few seconds. In return, other members will also visit your site. The more sites you visit the more visitors also to your site. You can join some of the surfing sites that I have joined, simply go to my website on my profile and once there, just click the website promotion link. Another option would be is to post the links of your website to social networking sites like facebook, friendster. Good luck!
