Do you consider buying pirated or fake cd, dvd as a form of stealing?

here in my country, in the philippines, it is not really considered by people as some form of stealing. maybe because we are poor country, and buying an original would cost a lot. it is just so natural for people here to buy without feeling any guilt at all. i too am guilty of that. but i didn't actually realize it was a form of stealing already. i just realized it when i saw the commercial and it really made me thing that it is really some form of stealing.

people who buys fake ones does not really steal bigger things like steal from shops or stores, so they thought they are not doing any wrong.

anyways, i try to buy original ones now. if i can't afford i just rent it in stores. so at least i didn't steal.

i rarely watch dvd or buy cd. i only when i really like the movie or the album. so i think buying occasionally an original will not really put a big whole in my pocket. i can save for that. i just bought this morning online a cd. it feels great to pay for it and not just buy a fake one. and also because no one sells a fake of this cd i bought online.

i prefer to rent a genuine cd because i have non-enough money to owe them

yeah i buy also those boxing of pacquiao. but we bought the fake one. but we also had some original ones cause we want some clear copies and also they lowered the price so that people will be encouraged to buy original. and i feel that we have to support them, so that they will earn from it cause it cost them money too.

i am just baffled as to why some people don't feel bothered doing these things. they will just steal spoon and fork and other stuff that don't belong to them. though it does worth that much, but it is still kind of stealing.

anyways, i think because of lack of knowledge and education do some people do this here in my country specially before like a decade or two ago when life was more simple back then.

well i mean we the buyer and the seller. though we won't sell it. if we buy from them we are part of stealing if they are fake items.

if the price is too high. i think that they are also doing some form of stealing. i think that they should make it affordable also so that people will be encourage to buy the original ones.

yes we should really pay them for doing such a beautiful movies or even just album of songs. they spent much capital producing them so we have to buy the original for them to enjoy what they worked hard for. they deserved it.

yes me too i can't blame others for doing. and i admit i may be guilty of this still from time to time. sometimes like you do i may tend to think if i will just buy some other important groceries or necessities at home and just buy a fake cd or dvd. cause the original are way too expensive. but they have tried to lower it down. mostly cd and dvd would range to $5 to $10. not more than that. mostly range in between that. so i think it is quite affordable now but it is still a big money specially if you plan to buy more than one cd or dvd. but if i really like the cd or dvd i may tend to buy an original one cause i rarely like something at all.

yes i think that it is illegal mostly to sell and buy in countries like US and UK. but in asian countries mostly, they are illegal but still they are so rampant and they are just like every where when you go out to the local market and malls there are fake ones you can buy. and there stalls may stand just next to the store that sells the original. LOL. freaking hilarious. anyways, maybe being in a very poor country, people earn a lot selling this fake cd and dvd's in order to have comfortable life. it earns them well. and buyers save a lot of course also.

yeah i think in asia it is really rampant. before i just prefer the fake but actually i am not really contented with the fake ones cause they tend to be blurry and sometimes they are not complete. but there are some that are really good. but it is actually sometimes a risk. cause not all the sells fake ones has a tv on their stalls so that you can see first if the cd is clear copy or not.

LOL. though you didn't give me the answer, i think i get what you wanna say. LOL. yeah i think that we are mostly guilty of this specially here in asia. i think here in asia is where piracy is rampant and the biggest problem.

anyways, i bought an original cd online few days back. just because no one sells the fake one yet as it is not a popular cd. i am excitedly waiting for it. i am kind of happy that i am able to afford it to buy it. it is kind of cool to buy online though. it may take few weeks as i ordered it from australia and i am from the philippines. at least for once i did buy an original. but i will not buy again any time soon it is not cheap. i just bought it cause it is special to me. i like the songs on it. and i like the voice of the singer.
