Have you ever just went out and bought something or done something just to make you or someone else feel good, even though it was beyond your normal spending budget? Maybe you bought that nice Louis Vuitton bag you just had to have, or that nice sports car, taken a helicopter ride around the city, eating out at a fancy restaurant? Sometimes you just have to do something good for yourself. you work hard for your money so you might as well enjoy it.

When people splurge to be happy some people do it for a false sense of happiness. That is exactly what came to mind when you started talking about a nice sports car or a LV bag. Those things go in and out of season real quickly and therefore I don't see why its necessarily to splurge that much on them. Now if its a nice purse that doesn't necessarily mean something to you because of a stupid logo then yeah go for it but I think you need to have the right sense of mind for it and not do it for the brand. People still need to be smart in their splurging.

I completely understand that but people are ignorant in their reasoning. Most people when buying a certain brand say that its because its made better when in reality most of the top clothing brands are made a lot thinner and cheaper so therefore they get ruined easier so you'll buy more. Its all mind games. I'm just saying yes splurge and be happy but still don't be ignorant.

Hi, Ebony
Welcome to Mylot.
I splurge every now and then on shoes. I am really picky when it comes to buying shoes and I am often frustrated on what are available here in our city. So when I am on vacation and I see really good shoe stores, I sometimes buy more than one pair. I bought 4 pairs in one trip once.
Have a nice day!

You just gave me a good discussion topic. Yeah I have gone crazy splurging over shoes before. The sad thing is that sometimes I only wear the shoes once. (my new discussion topic, ha ha!) come join me on that one. I find that I get better deals on shoes in the states so sometimes I buy quite a few pairs.

I have splurged occasionally. I try to avoid splurging though because once you splurge and buy one thing you're more likely to end up buying something else so you just end up spending more in the long run. However I think it's healthy to splurge and buy something for yourself or someone else once in awhile because it helps keep you from going crazy and buying too much.

I know money is tight especially in this economy even though it is still good to splurge on yourself every once in a while, and I remember when me and my wife splurged and bought the Halo 3 Edition X-box 360 because it was something I really wanted, and I splurged and bought a Nintendo Wii for my wife for Christmas, and we reserved the collectors edition of Splinter Cell Conviction which is the last game in my favorite series and I am also hoping we get to reserve Army of Two The 40th Day and me and my wife are trying to buy games and game accessories that we want, since I have a job now,and we have money coming in,we are also gonna buy Christmas gifts, and after Christmas we are only gonna buy like one thing a month for each of us.
