Recording music  

there are many ways of recording music, most involve a computer, so lets list a few.

-analog line in jack on sound card
-Midi interface USB
-Complete recording stations also USB

going with analog line in is one of the most easy ways of recording music, you simple plug your guitar into amp, then go from the amp's headphone input to the line in input to your computer, and your set.

a Midi interface is one of the best ways to record, from my experience, you simply plug your guitar into the usb midi interface and you can use it as a recording device.

complete recording stations are a whole other level of recording, they are a station that allows you to compile your tracks without the assistance of software, I've personally never used a modern usb one, but have used one that used tapes, and i will admit, i was impressed.
