hey all mylotters, isn't it surprising that a large number of people, who ordinarily are not at all interested in the faith and teachings of the church, suddenly become disturbed when she speaks out against abortion, the pill or in vitro fertilization? frankly, we are not exactly sure that an act we want to do or which we have done is right, so when the catholic church make certain demands which run contrary to the opinion of many people, for what? is church doubtful in their conscience?

Not quite sure what you're getting at here - use of language tricky to follow! But I have strong opinions on the Catholic Church. When you refer to people (such as myself) who "suddenly become disturbed" that the Church speaks out against various issues, it is for the same reason that I become disturbed when a state or government makes a bold decision... These are massive institutions, that carry massive clout. The decisions they make, and the words they drop, have far-reaching and dramatic consequences. And it angers me that the Church is so unashamedly backward-looking, corrupt, decadent, repressive... It angers me that millions die as a result of Church policy on contraception. It angers me that the Church denies women the right to an abortion. It angers me that the Church seeks to repress and subjugate women so utterly. What is this, the 1100s?
