the church teaches that god promises eternal life tin the joy of his presence to everyone of goodwill. therefore, every honese person who strives to do good and open their heart to the misery of others, welcomes jesus, the son of god and they are saved
does this mean that there is no need to be baptized?

Baptizism as explained by the chruch where my children attend was stated as a commitment of your devotion to the Lord. Each religion is slightly different in when you are baptized and who decides if you are baptized; so if you have the committment and love for the Lord most express this by being baptized. I personally was Christened at a very young age and have chosen to live my life as I feel that God would have guided me to do and I feel that when I die I will go to sit at the table with the Father. So I guess my answer to your original question is no you do not have to be baptized to enjoy eternal life.

as a christian we are baptized because to live our past sinful life after we had been baptized we are known as baby christian so we need to grow up by listening and reading god word everyday and this will answer your daily life question.to go to heaven we need to walk in holy life. ask god guide everyday

Frankly, I don't care.
God is an invention of the weak and is abused by the powerful. For those who truly wish to be "saved", I think there are better options than a dunk in the vicar's bathtub.
Besides, isn't there something in the New Testament about first accepting Jesus into your life, if you wish to be "saved"? I'm sure there's a catch; else, how would the Church make its money an retain its power?
