how do i stop my dog from barking

a dog that will not stop barking, no matter how cure and adorable it may be, can quickly become a nuisance.not only will it drive you crazy but it can be a problem for the entire neighborhood. maybe, dos that bark constantly are just doing what their instincts tell them, they do not realize that it maybe a problem, to dogs, they are jus letting everyone know that tere is something going on that you need to be aware of
however, it is still a noisance.
how do you stop a dog from barking?sometime i also think my dog is too noisy and make me cant concentrate on my work. i tried several ways but in vain.

I share with your problem about stopping our dog from barking. sigh! Mine wakes me up early in the morning. And she embarrasses me to my visitors coz she barks at them nonstop!

Hi smallcloud, Here is a good article which gives some good tips hnow to control a dog's barking. I think positive reinforcement really works both with humans and animals. Keeping a treat in your pocket helps to get the best out of your dog and stopping him from barking.
Scold your dog every time he makes a mistake. If the dog barks, even for just an instant, as you're waving the treat in front of his nose, say 'Be quiet,' in a louder voice. Then reward the dog immediately after he stops barking.

go to the vet, there's a vareity of thing you can do about getting dogs to be quite. my fav is the muzzle, it still allows the dog to eat and drink. we used to have it on our blueheeler. my dog needs one at times, between the rabbit and possums that are around it can be noisey at night.

Same here. Even my dog is same. When he starts barking, he does not stop. On one side is some visitor to whom, I am trying to talk and on other my dog starts barking, totally disturbing the conversation and I am unable to think for a moment whether to stop him first or talk to the visitor. I feel listening to command to keep quiet should have been taught to him when he was just a puppy. Now nothing can be done and we have to suffer this nuisance.

well there are those special barking collars. My mother's friend has one of them for her dog because her dog disturbs the neighbors as well. Basiclly every time the dog barks the collar does something a little painful to the dog to make them stop barking.

The best way is give it enough bone and meat.Maybe it yearn for a partner.when i was a child,we feeded a big dog,cute and adorable,but it always a "barking time",like you we had no ideas apart from holding it as it is at first.Bone and meat worked well before,but they skills not in the period of "barking".At last my dad bought another it a partner,and there was not a "barking time" ever.
