Every parents bear an expectation during the birth of their first kid. Some expects son and some expects daughter. There are some society, where first baby is expected to be a son. At the same time, Having a daughter as first kid is taken as a symbol of good luck. In my case i expected a daughter. I thank God, that my only child is a daughter. Though in this modern world, son or daughter is not a big factor. Now everybody earns and can run by themselves. During your first kid, did you you have any choice? What did you desire?
