I don't know if we celebrate children's day in the UK, but like Benny said, we always get free children's toys with Happy Meals in the UK. They are often cheap plastic things, but some of them are really good. We've had a couple of ice lolly moulds, a Bugs Bunny helicopter toy, a plastic beaker, a music recording, and some other pretty cool things.
We don't go to McDonald's too often, maybe once a month or as a special treat, but I don't think the food there is as bad as people think - although I suppose it does depend on what you choose, and how often you eat it. My daughter always has fish fingers there, and that's something she has at home anyway from time to time, and she doesn't have fries anywhere else, so I don't have any problem with it.
The gift you received on children's day sounds like a nice one, I hope your child enjoyed playing with it.

mcdonalds always give out toys where I live,
and personally I wish they didnt as its just pure marketing to attract families to eat mcdonalds as opposed to cooking a healthy option at home.
Dont get me wrong I eat mcdonalds and take my family there as a treat once a week but I know people who eat there 5 sometimes 6 days a week and keep going back day in day out just to get a happy meal and a toy which usually are total rubbish.
