Bought my brother the same ipod. Might not have been such a good idea.

Last month, my brother accidentally threw his ipod in the washed along with his jeans. Needless to say, it was completely ruined. He can't go anywhere without music so when I found the same model and color online, I bought it for him as an early Christmas present. Now I am wondering if it was such a good idea. I've been using the same ipod for 5 years but my brother somehow already went thru 4 different types of ipods (nano, video etc). Does it really matter?

so have you given him already the ipod. what was his reaction. i am sure that he will be happy to have one again. i think that for music lovers it is really important for them to have this kind of gadget. i am planning to buy one myself. but i prefer to buy a cheaper ipod. the smallest i guess. but i still don't have the money now. i am not really music lover. but i still feel it is cool to have one and to use one when i have this liking to listen to music.

I just ordered it online so it hasn't arrived yet. I know it is important for music lovers to have something that plays music. I'm on a tight budget too but the one I bought for him was only 20 dollars. I'm sure you'll be able to find an affordable one when you look around. Thanks for your response.

wow. that was freaking cheap. did you buy on ebay. here in our localized ebay online no one sells their gadgets that cheap and even in local thrift shop where you can find 2nd hand gadgets they will just sell it for half the price but not cheap as yours. i think that those from US are luckier cause many people there sell their old gadgets for a very low price. i may look out for 2nd items soon so i can save money.

Hi Your idea is a good idea only. What your brother lost, and need it for his daily use, you have presented it to him. It does not matter. you don't worry. You have done a good thing.

Your intentions were really kind when you thought of buying it. Moreover, any music lover can never dislike any iPod (It's a universal law). So your brother will definitely like it no matter how outdated it it.

No, it does not really matter, animegirl. And I think that you are a very sweet sister for having thought of buying your brother an ipod As you said, he cannot go anywhere without music, so an ipod must be something he really needs. It does not really matter if he had been through a lot of ipods, I am sure he did not lose them deliberately or by being very careless. Cheers to you!

Thanks. I don't think he threw it in the washer on purpose but he's already washed quiet a few of electronics though. I hope he likes his new ipod. Giving it to him in December.
