Hi people, this question is especially for those of you who do not have air conditioning, and do not use electricity to heat your home or your water. How do you heat your home, and how do you heat your water for domestic use?
I use kerosene.... But I would love to try something else such as solar or a multifuel stove/boiler.
Happy myLotting!

Oh yes, solar panels would be just wonderful specially for a country like my India which gets abundant sunlight throughout the year. However, neither the technology nor the commercial viability of solar panels is developed to that extent that we can install them on our roofs and use them during winter. I don’t need to heat my house during the winters coz its not that cold here in Calcutta but yes, I need hot water for bathing so I boil water on the stove which is definitely a wastage of resources.

Even in colder climates, solar panels can be ok. They can provide a plentiful supply of hot water, and that would be much cheaper in the long term.
Thanks for the comment.
