I slipped on some acorns in my driveway. I didn't think I had injured myself. I can walk on my left foot. I can exercise on the treadmill. Do all of my daily activities. It is no problem. But, when I lay down, searing pain. It goes from just under my knee to my big toe. The very second I stand up, no pain. I am making an appointment with my doctor. Just wondering, has anyone else ever had anything like that?

Hello ersmommy. I am sorry that you hurt yourself from slipping on some acorns. I can understand that you did not feel hurt because sometimes when I really hurt myself, I didn't, either, but later on I discovered that I did hurt myself. I think that it is because we did not feel much of the pain at the very beginning, but after some time, we may feel it. I hope that you will soon be fine again. Good luck and stay healthy, friend.

No I have never been in a situtaion like that but now you have shown me why people always say whenever you meet in an accident to check the doctor immediately even if you are not feeling any pain. The fact of the matter is we can be injured in places where we dont know and there are no symptyoms .Consequently the best person who can assess this is a doctor.I hope you get relief soon adn there is no major damamge to any ateries and major organs.

Hi, ersmommy1. I hope that you don't have a sprain of any kind. You should go and see a doctor. That pain that you have sounds very awful. About 6 years ago, I had on some long black heeled boots. I was on my way out of the door to leave.. I know that I was rushing.. And as I was walking in the front room, I slipped and fell so hard on my butt. My hand hit the floor very hard.. It hurt so bad. And the bad thing about this was that I had to be to work in about 2 to three hours or so.. I went to work that day in pain.. And get this.. I had to use my hands to make lids that would go on top of poultry boxes.. My hand was very sore. It was my right hand.. I still did my job as if nothing ever happened.. I wondered if I had a sprain.. I never had got it checked out.. I hope that you feel better real soon. I hate accidents, but sometimes I can't help when one comes my way.. Take care of yourself.. I hope that you feel better very soon.

Sorry to hear that you "buggered" up your foot? No I can't say that I've ever had that kind of pain, and I can imagine that must be quite painful. I've broken 2 toes before (big toe) and I though that was painful. Also have sprained an ankle while making a sudden move at the gym-that really affects your activities I have to say. Well, for you I'd say go to the Doctor as soon as possible, no idea what he'll say. In the meantime I'd probably take an anti inflammatory if I were you, and maybe rest your foot and ice it as well. Good luck.
