Should abortion be legal in certain circumstances?

One of the main issues during every election period is "Where does the official stand on abortion rights?". I happen to be pro life and believe that life begins at conception. As a currently pregnant woman I cannot even imagine aborting my child, and planned to not have any testing for mental disorders because I am going to keep my child either way. I inherently believe that if a woman did it, she should step up and mother her child. But I find myself asking what about women who were raped? What about children who are doing it at 12 years old and don't really know what they are doing? In these cases the woman did not make the choice to do it. So should they be able to have an abortion? I guess my view is that if I feel that both the woman and the child both have an equal right to choice (which they should) that the consequences of death for the baby are much worse than the consequences of a 9 month pregnancy for a woman (after all she could give the baby to a family that could not have children). So what do you think?

Another good example is that when their is a problem in pregnancy. If detected in early stage and doctors would say that their is a big risk that only one person would survive or the baby would soon die during the pregnancy inside the mothers womb. Doctors would often say to the husband and wife to make a choice on how to proceed. Abortion would now be legitimate if the couple chooses it.
