I own them both so I can watch them at any time, also Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Willy Wonka and the CHocolate Factory. Yes, I am 42, LOL :)

| 2. sbeauty (4246) | 2 years ago |  I've watched Show Boat over and over. I still get chills up my spine when the boatman sings "Old Man River". Howard Keel is always wonderful in musicals. Ava Gardner is superb, too.

My favorite stage musical is Les Miserables.

5.  emmiszoe (232) | 2 years ago |  I think as film musical it is Moulin Rouge, if you can call that a film musical. Generally, I think musicals written for the stage loos some of their magic when put on film (Rent, the Producers, just two examples).

That was the one that popped in my head when I read the question, so it must be.
