My little fur-baby is sick

I have a little 3 lb Chihuahua, the sweetest little girl. Two nights ago she started wheezing pretty bad, so I got her in to the vet. The vet said she has pneumonia, and she suspects it is canine swine flu, know as h3n8. She's so sick, every time she tries to play she starts to gasp. We have her on two different antibiotics for the pneumonia, but there's nothing they can do for the actual flu virus. We're giving her Pedialyte and the foods she prefers. It's so hard to see a dog this tiny so sick. The vet said we caught it early, I can't imagine how sick she would be if we'd waited.

Medical doctors are having a hard time confirming the H1N1, in humans, How come a VET diagnoses and confirm H3N8, in animals. Ok i am not a VEt but i do have the experience, Your dog has thick phlegm inside his system, you need to get it out, coz it contains the bacteria and viruses that you dog's lungs produced to counteract the symptoms, and its also a fact that dogs are mammals too, so how do you cure the pneumonia, Get a bottle of cough syrup, 60ml, force feed it to your dog, wait for an hour and i assure you he will spit/vomit all the phlegm. after that feed him uncooked egg so he recovers very fast. If you dont believe me, try my advice when other options has failed.

H3N8 was not confirmed, just suspected. I can't afford the expensive testing, especially since it would not change her treatment. She is doing much better today, breathing better and more active. Just to clarify (for others reading this) 60 ml is a lot of cough syrup and would kill a 3 lb dog. I'm sure you didn't mean to give the whole amount at once, just clarifying for others. Even a large dog would only need about 3-4 ml, and it should be an expectorant syrup. A suppressant syrup would keep her from coughing, and she needs to cough to bring up the phlegm. The raw egg, high in protein, is certainly appropriate, although we have chosen other high protein foods for healing. With the high incidence of eggs contaminated with salmonella, I would be hesitant to give a raw one to an already immuno-compromised animal. She seems to be recovering with PediaLyte, fortified milk (made for dogs), high protein moist dog food, antibiotics, and lots of cuddling.

I am so sorry that your baby is sick. I am glad that it was caught early. I know how you feel about your baby because my husband and I have three cats that we treat like humans and we worry about them. I hope that you baby feels better soon and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself and your baby.
