Have you ever travelled past your destination?

If you ask me, my reply would be, yes! I have travelled past my destinations a couple of times. Once, it so happened that I took the train at 11 PM and it was scheduled to arrive at my destination i.e. Varanasi, at 7 AM. I was so tired and had not been sleeping properly for a few days. So I had a sound sleep in the train and when I woke up, the first thing I did was to see the time in my wrist watch. It was 10 AM. I got up quickly and asked my fellow passengers as to which was the next station. they told me it was Allahabad. that is about 175 km ahead of Varanasi. I was shocked and terrified as my ticket had become invalid. The train finally pulled up at Allahabad. I got off the train and saw a train coming from opposite direction, fortunately it was going to Varanasi. I did not have time to buy the ticket. So I changed the platform and boarded the train. I was tense all the way from Allahabad to Varanasi about the T.T.E coming and catching me but nothing of the sort happened and I managed to get back to Varanasi safe and unharmed. So did you have any experience like mine? Please share it.

When travelling in unfamiliar places, I would keep alert, but if travelling in the city, very often I past the destination when taking the bus, either because of chatting, or reading.

The only time I traveled past my destination was when I came home from college. I was traveling by bus and when my stop came up next I pushed the stop-button like allways. The busdriver did not stop at the next busstop though, he drove along and I called him asking him to stop as I had pushed the button far before the busstop came along. He dropped me off at the next stop, apologizing and carried on his work. I wasn't formiliar in the area so I called my mom to talk me through the unformiliar block untill I saw things that I could relate too. It was quite an odd experience.

One time I was on my way home from visiting my aunt. I was traveling alone and listening to music. I got on the first train and I should have been on the second train I think. I was so surprised when it went past my station. I asked and found out the next stop would be one and a half hours away. It took me hours to get home.
