obsession with tights

Im sure it's just a phase but Im having this crazy obsession where a wear tights as apposed to pants. I wore it to my friends house the other day and it just completely confused her. I really like the look but apparently it's not "instyle" for her yet. I want to be the one to wear it before everyone else. Like the whole plaid stage, and skinny jean stage. Now everyones doing those and I want to be in and out before everyone else. What would you want to wear to set a trend/fashion statement?
