What's the difference between a liberal and technical college?  

Okay, there are colleges out there that say they are liberal art colleges and others say they are technical colleges. I hear that technical is more just math and science. But then do they have many artsy extracurricular stuff like theatre, language, art, etc? And then from what I understand a liberal arts college it seems like they only care about artsy things. But, I'm not sure, is that really what it means? I really like the arts, and although its not something I would want as a major, I would want to be surrounded by it in a college. Pleaasssee help I am confused!
