Are "SOME WOMEN" misusing the provisions of law on "ANTI DOWRY ACT"

Hi guys, now there are many men coming to the roads protesting that "SOME" women (NOT ALL)are misusing the provisions given by law to save women against dowry harrasment and other domestic violence and harrasments.. whats your opinion on this..

Hi dhanasekart, I am one for dowry. I openly admit it. I want it legalized. I have very valid reasons to say so. I want the government to acknowledge any such transfer of property from one family to another. There are very concrete reasons for such a statement. No amount of laws we have come up with have managed to remove the problem. So why dont we try the reverse way? If, however, there is any attempt by the girl to take anything more from the house of parents after marriage, the husband and in-laws should be sent for rigorous imprisonment. After marriage nothing should be asked. And the girl should not even be allowed to keep in touch with her parental family if she wants protection under the act.

you are right, and i agree with you. the reason why i raised this discussion is. i have a friend who is very caring to his wife and he is of a middle class family. this guy cant bare her wife suffering in any ways,(even i thought of taking him as a role model to be a good husband). his wife wants to live a rich life and she is a bit greedy at times.. this made a conflict between them and i guess that was their 1st quarrel. this guy is a compromising type even if there is no mistake on him. he will ask sorry.. but for that small quarrel she has been given idea by her family members to file a harrasment case against this guy that he is torturing her for dowry.. i feel that this kind of things are happening in many places across..

Hi dhanasekar, It is pretty bad to harass an innocent person. Yes I agree; the Law is there for protecting us not for torturing. It is pity our Law is giving preference to women, even if she is wrong. Here also this man will get punishment because dowry case is very sensitive and Law will protect the women only. I really wish, somebody will be there to support the innocent person and the lady may realize her mistake.
