To tell you the truth Ive seen some of these kids, and or men. Some of them look down right buff, and very athletic.. so what do you think.

Boxing in the special olympics? Absolutely not. My cousin is a special olympian and even though these kid/men are buff they are not capable of handling the responsibility of the boxing ring. One reason I say this is that their brain age is that of a small child so any damage that is done to the brain will simply make it harder on them and their care takers. Another reason is that many special olympians do not understand their own strength. Their primal instincts of fight or flight would cause them to either run from the ring or basically fight until someone was seriously injured. Finally some of these olympians would not know when to turn of their fight instinct. If the referee was to step in to try to stop the fight then he could potentially become the target. Special Olympics is a team building event. It is meant to foster a sense of accomplishment and pride.
