Anyone knows of any natural cure for Bronchitis

My dad has being coughing etc the last week or so. The doctor said it's bronchitis, but they have not given him anything for this condition. He is on other medications for other illnesses. I am not sure if that's why he has not gotten anything for the bronchitis. I was wondering if there is anything he can do to at least alleviate the symptoms. If there is a tea, he can drink?

I have read that sage is very good for bronchitis, try boil fresh leaves it a pot of water to make tea. It is very bitter so you could add honey to sweeten if that wont aggravate the symptons.
i have tried sage for sore gums and it works wonders so I would not be surprised if it did help bronchitis.
