I am still struggling with getting my home mmovies onto a DVD. I have finally figure out the program that came with the CamCorder (with mini DVD) and I can copy from Camcorder to PC to DVD using the Motion Picture Browser program that came with the camera, but I have some that I already copied to my PC hard drive (D: drive) MPB won't allow me to pull from the PC harddrive (or at least I can't figure it) so I downloaded NERO - I finallyfigured that just cause it says "data", it will copy the motion pictures, and if I check it on my PC.. the moviies are there on the DVD disk, playing from the D: drive... however.. the disk will not play on a DVD player/TV. It says check the disk for scratches etc. So... what am I doing wrong? What step did I miss? I know something about finalizing a disk so it will play on outside dvd players, but this was not an option on NERO. Can anyone tell me how to get the movies off my PC harddrive D: and on to a dvd disk so that they play on a dvd player? Using Nero

There are many softwares available for conversion and burning it to the dvd. But the important point to note is whether your video quality is good or not. So whenever you convert the file, just check the quality of the video and proceed with writing it to the dvd. If your DVD player supports DIVX format, then you can use handbrake or super to convert to avi format. Then write as a data disc to your dvd. If your DVD player is a traditional one, then you may have to use someother softwares which have dvd conversion and authoring tools.

Hi coffeebreak, It has bee a while since I used Nero but if i remember you have to convert the file type to a .VOB file. This is done with the Nero Recode component and it can take a few hours to convert. Try this site http://www.videohelp.com/ It served me well when I used to burn a lot of movies, it has in depth tutorials for nearly all burning programs. Hope that is of help
