we have half custody of a german shep its a long story. she is about 11 months old now and we want to get her fixed cause well what on earth woud we do wth puppies. the vet says it is better to let them have one litter but is it really? i mean she is so sweet and loving and great with kids and babies. wouldnt letting her have a litter make her more i dont know older and maybe snippy. i mean right niow we can do anythig to er and she doenst care. the kids paint her nails, they put there clothes on her and necklaces etc. the other owner of her wants to but we are not sure. she doesnt have papers she was a stray that showed up he wants to breed her with another german shep but i cant sell puppies they should be loved and etc i am scared what if they didnt get a good home what if i couldnt let them all go that kind of thing

We just had our Pembroke Welsh Corgi fixed last week. We knew right away that we were not going to mate her because there are so many unwanted animals in the world. Don't let the vet sway you - it's your choice. I personally did not want to fall in love with a litter of puppies and not want to give them away.
Good luck on your decision.

I got my cat from a lady who wanted to breed him with others, but he was not interested in the act of breeding so she had him fixed. Then he did not get along with her other cat, the cat she'd had for 8 years prior, so she needed to find a new home for him. That's how I got him.
I had a female dog growing up that we got as a puppy, and we had her spayed as soon as we ould. We were not interested in puppies.
There have not been problems with our pets being fixed before they had a chance to have, or father a litter of babies.
